Know your possible colleges in Karnataka
Enter your AIAPGET All India Rank, round and seat categories to see the seats that went to a similar rank. This is based on last year’s data: the seat allotment lists of the 2025 Karnataka (KEA) counselling.
How to read the results
The closing rank is the AIAPGET All India Rank of the last candidate holding that seat in the chosen round of the 2025 Karnataka counselling. Your rank is compared with it.
- High
- Your rank is at least 20% better than the closing rank.
- Good
- Your rank is within the closing rank, with a smaller margin.
- Borderline
- Your rank is past the closing rank by up to 10% (or 20 ranks).
- Low
- Your rank is past the closing rank by up to 30% (or 60 ranks).
Seats further out than that are not listed.
- Government quota
- Seats of government colleges and the government quota seats of private colleges, for Karnataka candidates, with category reservation. The lists print a course fee of ₹50,000 in a government college and ₹1,25,000 in a private one.
- Private
- Private seats of private colleges, printed as OPN in the lists. Open to candidates of any state, with no category reservation. The lists print a course fee of ₹4,00,000.
- Management
- Management seats of private colleges, printed as MNG. Open to candidates of any state, with no category reservation. The lists print a course fee of ₹5,00,000.
- NRI
- NRI seats of private colleges. None was allotted in Rounds 1 and 2; from Round 3 they were allotted in order of rank like the other seats, at a course fee of ₹7,00,000.
- In-service
- Government quota seats allotted to doctors in state service, from a merit list of their own. These closing ranks do not carry over to other candidates.
A private college has all four of the first kinds, at four different fees, so the same course there can appear up to four times. In-service seats are shown in the cutoffs and never counted in a prediction.
- The categories are named exactly as KEA prints them in its lists. GM is General Merit: unreserved seats, for every Karnataka candidate, so most candidates keep GM ticked. A candidate with no reserved category ticks GM only.
- 1G is Category 1; 2AG, 2BG, 3AG and 3BG are categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B; S1G, S2G and S3G are the three groups of the Scheduled Castes (SC-A, SC-B, SC-C); STG is the Scheduled Tribes. These seats go only to candidates of that category, so tick your own as well: a 2A candidate ticks GM and 2AG. They are Karnataka’s categories, for Karnataka candidates with a certificate from a Tahsildar of the state.
- A category ending in H (GMH, 1H, 2AH, 2BH, 3AH, 3BH, S1H, S2H, S3H, STH) is the same category kept for the Kalyana Karnataka region. Tick these only if you hold the eligibility certificate for that region under Article 371(J): a 2A candidate with the certificate ticks GM, GMH, 2AG and 2AH.
- Private, management and NRI seats are not reserved. They are counted whenever GM is ticked.
- A Karnataka candidate is one who passed BAMS from a college in Karnataka, or is of Karnataka origin: the candidate or a parent has lived in the state for at least ten years. The bulletin lists a few more cases, such as children of defence personnel from Karnataka. If you are none of these, tick the last option: government quota seats are left out, and only private, management and NRI seats are counted.
- The bulletin keeps NRI seats for NRI, OCI and PIO candidates and their wards. In 2025 none was allotted in the first two rounds, and 158 were allotted from Round 3 onwards in order of rank, 26 of them to candidates who had held a management, private or government quota seat in Round 1. Confirm with KEA that you can take one before counting on it.
If seats in more than one of your categories exist for the same course and seat type, the one that closed later is shown.
- Round 1
- Every government quota, private and management seat is on offer in Round 1, so its closing ranks are the strictest. No NRI seat was allotted in it.
- Round 2
- Seats held after Round 2: those allotted in Round 2, plus Round 1 seats that candidates joined or kept. No NRI seat was allotted in it.
- Round 3 (mop-up)
- Only the seats left vacant after Round 2, allotted to candidates who held no seat. Most of them were NRI seats, allotted here for the first time.
- Stray vacancy round
- Only the seats still vacant after Round 3, allotted to candidates who held no seat.
- Special stray vacancy round
- Only the seats still vacant in January 2026, when the last date for admission was extended.
After Round 1 a candidate could join the seat, hold it and try for a better one in Round 2, or give it up. After Round 2 there was no such choice: the seat had to be joined.
- It is one year of results, not a forecast. Seats, applicants and their preferences change every year.
- Most reserved seats here had a single place on offer, so a closing rank is often one candidate’s rank. Treat it as a guide.
- The Round 2 list shows every seat held once its result was out, including Round 1 seats that were joined or kept. The lists of Round 3 and the two stray vacancy rounds contain only the seats allotted in them, and no list says who joined a Round 2 seat, so those rounds are shown as published.
- The category of a government quota seat can change between Round 1 and Round 2, because the roster is worked again and unfilled in-service and PwD seats pass to the other candidates.
- The lists do not print a candidate’s own category, so a reserved-category candidate who took a GM seat on merit cannot be told apart from a GM candidate.
- It covers Ayurveda only. The same lists hold Homoeopathy, Unani and Yoga & Naturopathy seats, which are left out. The 15% All India quota seats of the government colleges are filled by central counselling.

Every row was read by three PDF readers with the same result. Round 1 was checked against the seat matrix KEA published before it: every seat allotted is a seat of that college, course, category and region. The later rounds were checked against KEA’s lists of vacant seats. The rules for who can take which seat are those of its information bulletin.
